To be considered for this position:
Candidates must have successfully completed a phlebotomy training course and/or have hands-on phlebotomy experience.

Details:

Training Requirement:
All new hires are required to complete a structured 8-week training program before being scheduled independently on a casual basis.

  • Week 1: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

  • Weeks 2-8: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Please note: Completion of this training program is mandatory to be considered for the casual role. We understand the schedule may be challenging for those seeking PRN work; however, we are willing to provide full training to candidates who have completed a phlebotomy course but do not yet have professional experience.

Duties: Phlebotomist
Responsible for collection and transportation of patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing adhering to department identification policies. Perform, evaluate, and report patient specimens using point-of-care instrumentation. Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment, represent the lab in a professional manner, and provide excellent customer service. May process and distribute patient specimen for clinical laboratory testing.

Required Qualifications: Phlebotomist

  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.

  • High school education or equivalent required.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills required.

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.

  • Computer experience required.

  • Attention to detail required.

  • Ability to multitask required.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Preferred Qualifications: Phlebotomist

  • Direct patient care experience or completion of a phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.

  • Phlebotomy certification PBT (ASCP) preferred.
